Strong and Severe Storms For Today

Hello everyone and welcome back to the blog on this Wednesday morning. We have a slight risk for severe thunderstorms today. Here's the latest issued product from the SPC ( Storm Prediction Center).
Large Hail, Damaging Winds and Isolated tornadoes is all possible. The tornado chances is very low but we cannot rule out a brief weak tornado. Take a look at the chances:

Thats just a 2% chance, BUT!!! Tornadoes still can happen and if any storms do produce any kind of severe weather your friendly weather dude here will let you know!

Look at the instability in Western Kentucky:

That is a favorable area for thunderstorm development, and the instability is there in our area in the eastern part of the state as well but not as strong.

Today a line of strong to severe thunderstorms will develop in the western part of the sate and move rather quickly from northwest to southeast. Like I said above Damaging winds, Large Hail is the main threats. An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. Temperatures will soar well into the 70s for highs ahead of the line of storms thanks to the southwesterly winds.

I'll be watching the storms as they start to develop and another blog post is likely before the storms hit but as they are developing and moving in our direction. Have a great Wednesday and take care everyone! :)
