Hello everyone and good Monday to you, I am very sorry for the lack of posts over the past few days as it has been a busy couple of days for this weather dude. Anyways I should be back to my normal posting self :).
Let's get down to business as today has the potential to be a rocky start to the work week. A front is over the state from the northwest to southeast and that will be what sparks some showers and thunderstorms for today. Not only that temperatures will be wild! Nearing 90 degrees in the western parts of the state and some areas in the east and northeast could struggle to get out of the 60s!
The GFS rainfall output model is talking about some very heavy rains over our area for the next 2 weeks. Some areas of Kentucky could get up to 4 or even 5 inches of rain! Thats something that areas like Louisville doesn't need. They got hit hard with showers and thunderstorms yesterday which resulted in some street flooding and we don't want that around here.
Now back to todays thunderstorm chances, some of these storms that do pop up today has the chance to be on the strong side with large hail and damaging winds as the main threats. There is also the chance that one or two of these could go severe as well. Tomorrow the chances is about the same with once again the main threats being large hail, and damaging winds.
More posts later as needed and quick updates will go up on facebook as the storms develop and I will also keep you in the know if any of those storms goes severe. Have a great Monday everyone and be sure to cheer on the Cats! Go Big Blue! :)
